SYNOPSIS

Hyena in Petticoats tells the incredible, true life story of Mary Wollstonecraft: the mother of feminism and Mary Shelley. Set to a grand, classical-infused pop score, the show remains rooted in the present, shining light on issues that women still face, centuries later.

PRODUCTION HISTORY

Hyena in Petticoats was developed at NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing program, and received a 29 hour equity reading in April, 2017. In September, 2017, Hyena was an official selection for the Apples and Oranges Theatre Accelerator Program. It received a second reading at the Dramatists Guild in December, 2017.
