ABOUT

        Austin Nuckols is a Brooklyn based composer, writer, and music director. Hailing from Mechanicsville, Virginia, Austin studied Mathematics and Music at University of Richmond and received their MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from New York University. Selected works include: The Scarlet Savior (St. Luke's Theater, UC Irvine), Please Say You Love Me Too (UC Irvine), and Hyena in Petticoats (NYU) with longterm collaborator Lily Dwoskin#adulting, a Millennial Opera (St. Luke's Theater, 18th & Union Theater) as a founding member of the self described "musical theatre sh*tposting" group The Ballerina Kitties, and commissioned composer/lyricist work for various children's theater companies, including Inside Cloud 9 as a commission from the Dreamers Theatre/Firehouse Theatre; a devised musical theatre piece from the troupe's life experiences as adults with autism.

       As a Music Director, Austin has played and arranged for multiple Off-Broadway productions, most recently Love Quirks (currently on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic), along with numerous readings and workshops throughout the city. Other productions include: Frankenstein, The Great Cat Massacre, It Came From Beyond, Lili Marlene. 

       Austin's work has been described as “unexpected [and] f***ing hilarious” (NWTheatre) and their “songs are perfect in uniqueness… excellent show.” (Hi Drama).
